چکیده
Background: There is significant evidence to support that patients with the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have a higher propensity develop thrombotic events. COVID-19 in intensive care units (ICU) an increased rate of venous thromboembolism (VTE), ranging from 17% 25%. Apart acute respiratory failure, coagulopathy remains common abnormality these patients, within creased levels both fibrinogen and D-dimers. Anticoagulation using subcutaneous heparin known reduce incidence thromboembolic events; although concern regarding over-anticoagulation resulting excessive bleeding impediment. Objective: Study Design: Retrospective study Place Duration Study: Bahria International Hospital Lahore 1st May 2020 31st October 2020. Methodology: One hundred eight admitted ICU were enrolled. The events treated during their admission moderate severe COVID19 ICU. All given therapeutic dosed anticoagulation universally unless contraindicated. Results: Thromboembolic seen 10 while 98 did not any such event. 3 had event stay. Conclusions: Using prophylactic dose anti-coagulation therapy effective safe strategy it associated improved outcomes terms reducing morbidity mortality.
